Veteran Health Data Should Be Public.
We Made It That Way.

For decades, veterans have reported unusual rates of cancer, neurological conditions, and chronic illness with no independent record to point to. The VA tracks claims. It does not maintain any searchable public database linking military installation to veteran health outcomes by base, unit, or service year in any publicly accessible way. Congressional registry efforts have stalled for years. No public database links military service to veteran health outcomes. We built one. Every submission is anonymous, aggregated, and publicly visible. No individual record is ever exposed. No government access. No waiting.

WHO WE SERVE

Vulnerable Veterans Deserve a Champion

This registry is open to all veterans with any health condition. We specifically focus on veterans whose conditions may be linked to their military service because no government registry tracks this data in any publicly accessible way.

Absolute Anonymity

We do not store your name or Social Security number. Your survey responses are protected by high-level encryption and used only for aggregate research.

Exposure Tracking

Document exposures from burn pits, contaminated water, or chemical agents. This independent registry helps identify clusters that federal agencies may have missed.

Immediate Transparency

Unlike federal registries that take years to publish, our survey data updates instantly. See how your health compares to others in your specific unit.

501c3 Non-Profit

This is a free community service. We are an independent non-profit dedicated to truth and transparency, not government bureaucracy or private profit.

THE PROBLEM

Veteran Health Invisibility Is More Common Than You Think

Military health registries are often restricted by law. Every veteran deserves a voice, full data transparency, and an independent platform to document their truth. Without accountability, official silence becomes a tool for harm. The National Veteran Health Survey intervenes when the system fails to protect the people who served it.

  • Delayed recognition of toxic exposures from burn pits and chemical agents
  • Denial of service-connection for rare cancers or respiratory illnesses
  • Lack of transparency regarding contaminated water at domestic and overseas bases
  • Inconsistent tracking of health trends for non-combat support roles
  • Difficulty proving exposure for contractors or civilians living on-site
  • Fragmented medical records that fail to follow a veteran after discharge
  • Long wait times for Congressional approval of new health registries
  • Limited data sharing between federal agencies and independent researchers
  • Suppression of health clusters in specific units or geographic locations
Toxic Exposure: A Specific Risk Area

When service members are stationed in areas with open-air burn pits or contaminated groundwater, administrative records often fail to document the specific toxins present. This gap in official history exists for millions of veterans across the country, making it nearly impossible to prove service-connection decades later.

Veteran Health Survey | Free Anonymous Health Registry for Toxic Exposure Veterans  Know Your Rights

The PACT Act and existing federal laws provide pathways for healthcare and compensation for exposed veterans. However, many victims lack the documented data needed to satisfy bureaucratic requirements. That is exactly why this survey exists: to build the independent evidence required to secure your benefits.

WHAT WE DO

Four Ways the Survey Takes Action

Every donation funds real services that protect real people, from free educational tools to direct financial grants to homeowners in crisis.

01

Free Public Information Tools

We build and maintain free digital tools that help veterans investigate toxic exposure zones, unit-specific health clusters, base water reports, and other public data relevant to their service history.

02

Know-Your-Exposure Education

Every veteran deserves a future defined by health, not hidden hazards. You deserve competent care, clear answers, and a system that works. No agency should be allowed to weaponize bureaucracy or silence against you.

03

Direct Data & Reports

We are developing a specialized reporting program for qualifying veterans, providing "research-grade" data summaries that can be used to support individual claims and community-wide health studies.

04

Referral & Advocacy

We are building referral partnerships with legal aid organizations, veteran service groups, and government oversight bodies including the VA and GAO Offices of Inspector General.

Facts & Questions

Common Questions about the Homeowner Justice Project

Is my survey data really anonymous?

Yes. We use a token-based system and advanced encryption to ensure your identity is never linked to your health data. We do not store your name or Social Security number. Our platform uses a suppression floor that prevents small groups from being identified in any public report or registry data.

Does this replace the official VA health registry?

No. This is an independent survey tool designed for advocacy and community awareness. You should still file official claims through the Department of Veterans Affairs. However, our independent registry helps you see if your conditions are common among others who served in your specific unit or location.

How does the 3-year date range help the survey?

Using 3-year buckets for service dates and birth years protects your privacy while maintaining statistical accuracy. This range is precise enough to identify toxic exposure clusters and geographic health trends without revealing the specific identity of individual survey participants.

Who can participate in this veteran health survey?

This survey is open to all veterans, active duty service members, and their families. We also encourage contractors and civilians who lived or worked on military installations to participate. Accurate data requires input from everyone who may have been exposed to environmental hazards.

How is this survey project funded?

This is a 100% free service provided by the Blue Ridge Mountain Foundation. As a 501c3 non-profit, we do not sell your data to third parties. We rely on community support and donations to maintain this independent registry for the benefit of all veterans.

Can I update my health information later?

Yes. When you complete the survey, you receive a secure, private token link. You can use this link at any time to update your health status or add new information as your medical journey evolves. This ensures the national data remains current and accurate.

How is the survey data used for advocacy?

We provide research-grade data summaries to veteran service organizations and legislative bodies. By showing clear clusters of illness linked to specific bases or units, we provide the evidence needed to demand accountability and expanded benefits for toxic exposure.

How will the survey data be displayed?

Public results are aggregated into high-resolution reports categorized by military unit, specific health conditions, length of service, and age group. This allows veterans to see clear patterns of illness within their own peer groups. By grouping data this way, we can highlight environmental health trends that might be invisible in general medical records.

When and where can I search the survey results?

All data will be made available and publicly searchable on this website once a category reaches at least five unique entries. This "suppression floor" is a critical security measure that prevents the potential identification of any specific individual based on their unit, condition, or service dates. This ensures that the registry remains a tool for community advocacy while keeping every participant anonymous.

How can this data be used for VA disability claims?

The survey results can be utilized in support of Nexus letters or Independent Medical Opinions (IMOs). You can download aggregated statistical reports in PDF format that compare the health outcomes of your specific group against the national statistical averages of the general population. We utilize health data from the CDC’s National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) to provide the baseline for these comparisons, giving you a powerful data point to show when a condition is significantly more prevalent in your veteran cohort than in the public at large.

How can law firms, VSOs, and other veteran sites use this data?

We offer secure data integration for qualified third-party organizations, including veteran disability groups, law firms, and advocacy platforms. Through our "Powered by National Veteran Health Survey" API and widget suite, other organizations can integrate our real-time health statistics directly into their own websites. This allows partners to provide their members with high-quality, unit-specific health data while helping us grow the national registry.

What are the requirements for data integration?

Organizations wishing to integrate our data must agree to a formal Data Use Agreement (DUA). This strictly prohibits the "re-identification" of any individual and restricts the use of the data to veteran advocacy, medical research, or legal support. We do not allow our data to be used for commercial marketing. Organizations must also display our service mark and a link back to the primary survey to ensure data integrity and transparency.

How do I request an integration or partnership?

If your organization is interested in utilizing our aggregate health data or hosting a branded version of the survey for your specific community, please use our Contact Form to reach out to the development team. We provide customized data exports and "white-label" solutions for partner organizations that share our 501(c)(3) mission of transparency and veteran health justice.
